18 years old Woman was allegedly kidnapped and raped by two men in Jagatsinghpur district, Odisha on Monday night, police said.
According reports, the incident took place at around 8:30 pm when the woman was returning from her friend’s birthday party in a nearby village with her female friend. As per her father’s police complaint, the two men attacked them, took the woman to a farmland, and raped her. Her friend managed to escape.
The woman returned home bleeding badly and was immediately taken to the district hospital, where she is being treated in critical condition.
Police have started an investigation and recovered a mobile phone from the crime scene. They are questioning the survivor’s friend and her mother for more information.
Jagatsinghpur’s BJP MLA Amrendra Das said that the police has launched a manhunt to nab the culprits. “I have spoken to the SP. Stringent action will be taken against the culprits,” he said.
