A night guard found dead in Sribhumi under mysterious circumstances at Hatikhira community Health Centre on January 14 night on the day of Makar Sankranti.
The night guard identified as Prasenjit Akura, aged 33, a residents of the 18th Tea Garden in Patharkandi’s Harikhira. According to reports, the victim’s dead body was found in the in the health center’s courtyard, covered in blood, with severe head and facial injuries.
He was on his duty when the incident occurred. His colleagues found his dead body in the health center courtyard, when he was returning from a meal and immediately called locals. The locals then contacted the police.
The police went to site immediately and started investigation, which suspecting foul play.
In evidence police found two iron rods near the dead body, leading investigators to suspect that Akura may have been assaulted.
Police have sent the dead at Sribhumi civil hospital for post mortem examination.
