National Scholarship for Post Graduate 2025: Online Application Started

The online application for the National Scholarship for Postgraduate studies has started from 25^th June 2025 and will continue till October 31. The eligible candidate of India can apply online. To know the eligibility, go through the post.

National Scholarship for Postgraduate 2025 details

Ishan Uday Scholarship is a special scholarship for India, where 10,000 students belonging to economical weaker section within India, are available to get Rs 15,000 per month for 10 month. The scheme is launched by University Grants Commission (UGC) to promote higher education. The student who are pursuing postgraduate degree can apply for the scholarship.

Every year 10,000 fresh scholarship distributed among the economical weaker section of North Eastern Region, who are pursuing postgraduate Course, Science, Engineering & Technology, medical, technical, agriculture, forestry programmes.

National Scholarship for Postgraduate 2025: Eligibility Criteria

The Scholarship is open to those students for the first PG Degree programme only. National Scholarship is open to those students who have acquired a recognized Undergraduate Degree from an Institution which is recognized under Section 2(f) or Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956 or is authorized to award specified degrees as per section 22(1) of the UGC Act.

The scholarship is available for those students only, who are pursuing a recognized UG degree programmes

Only the students, who are already admitted in the first year of PG degree programme in an eligible university/college/institution, are eligible to apply.

The scholarship is available to the students for first PG Degree only

In case of integrated programmes, the scholarship shall given for PG component only.

Only students who are below the age of 30 years of age as on the date of admission in the first semester/year of a PG programme are eligible to apply under these schemes.

The scholarship is available only for students who admitted to PG degree programme through ‘Regular/Full Time’ mode.

Note: It is mandatory for the University/College/Institute to have a valid AISHE code for accessing the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). The institution with AISHE code can get themselves registered/re-registered on NSP portal through District/State nodal officers for NSP

Students who are not eligible for National Scholarship for Postgraduate 2025

Students, who have already acquired any postgraduate degree, are not eligible to apply.

The students, who are pursuing any Page 3 of 7 PG programme through open/distance/correspondence mode, private or part-time mode, are not eligible to apply.

How to apply for the National Scholarship for Postgraduate 2025

First Go through National Scholarship Portal

Click on Student and then click on Apply for Scholarship

Then click on the Register Yourself as you are a new Register for OTR and Registration number

Then Register Yourself, provide Mobile number and the other documents that needed.

After registration click on Login to apply online for the scholarship.

Fill the online application form carefully. Students are not required to upload any certificate/affidavit on NSP while submitting their online applications. However, as per requirement of scheme they have to submit necessary documents to their institutions to enable them to verify their online applications.

Lastly take a print of the online application and take a hard copy of all the documents that given in the portal and submit it to the college or institution.

The Institution shall verify the eligibility of its students on the basis of documents submitted by students to NSP.

After verifying the eligibility of its students for scholarship under the scheme, the institution shall verify the online application on NSP within the stipulated time. While verifying the online application, the institutions shall upload a scanned copy of certificate on the Portal.
