A mysterious explosion took place in Beharbari, Guwahati in the morning of Republic Day, which cause panic among the locals. The unexpected blast led to chaos in the area, police arrived immediately at the place.
Following the incident, police immediately arrived at the site and conduct inspection. However the cause of the explosion is not known yet.
A spokesperson stating, “It’s under verification, and we can’t confirm if it was a bomb. We are looking into the matter.”
A locals resident speaking to media stated, “We were sitting here when we heard a sound of explosion. This is the first time we heard such a sound of an explosion.”
Another individual stated, “We heard a sound like an explosion. Initially, we thought of this to be an accident, however, later arriving at the spot, we saw smoke coming out. The police also arrived here after the explosion.”
The Guwahati city police are still investigating the incident and have not confirmed what caused the explosion.
