The mobile internet will be suspended for 7 hours 30 minutes, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm on the exam day across Assam.
The voice calls and fixed-line broadband services will remain unaffected.
The decision, issued by Additional Chief Secretary Ajay Tewari from the Home and Political Department, aims to prevent potential malpractices and disruptions that may arise during the recruitment exams.

The exams, held across 28 districts in Assam, are essential for filling various Grade IV posts in state government departments.
The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB), coordinating the exams for the State Level Recruitment Commission, highlighted that past exams were affected by malpractices involving social media platforms and mobile apps such as Facebook and WhatsApp.
