A major fire broke out late night on Friday (June 13) in Purbagram, Dudhpatil, outskirts of Silchar which destroyed two-storey house of a local business man house.
According to reports, the house is owned by Tapu Nath a local business man. The property losses of the business man estimated several lakhs.
According to sources, the fire began around midnight and quickly escalated when a cooking gas cylinder exploded inside the house. The sudden explosion intensified the flames, making it difficult to control the blaze in its early stages.

Three fire tenders arrived immediately from nearby station and worked for several hours to bring the situation under control. But its good that no, casualties have not reported.
Initial investigations suggest the cause of the fire may have been an electrical short circuit, though an official statement from the fire department is awaited.
Local authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and ensure all electrical wiring and gas fittings are regularly inspected to avoid similar tragedies.
