A massive fire broke out at Gandhi Basti, Guwahati area at around 11:30 AM on June 12, 20 house gutted into ash, causing panic among local residents. Thick plumes of smoke were seen rising into the sky as the fire quickly spread.
Today June 11, Fire broke out at Gandhi Basti area in Guwahati, where 20 house fully destroyed. It is suspected that 8-9 Cylinder exploded in the area after fire broke out.
The blaze, suspected to have been triggered by a gas cylinder explosion, spread rapidly through the congested neighborhood.
Locals reported hearing loud blasts before flames engulfed the area. Fire tenders rushed to the spot and managed to bring the fire under control after intense efforts.
Thankfully, no casualties have been reported so far. Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire, while affected families await relief and rehabilitation.
