One killed and another sustained injured in police firing on Sunday night, when a group of protestors vandalized public properties and Offices of the political parties in Jiribam โ€™s Babupura, Manipur.

According to reports, the incident occurred during 11 pm on Sunday night, when some protestors, vandalized properties of public properties and BJP, Congresses offices at Babupura, Jiribam, Manipur.

Officials said they took out furniture, papers, and other items from the buildings and set them on fire in front.

โ€œA protester was killed in firing during a clash between security forces and a mob that was vandalising properties in Manipurโ€™s Jiribam district,โ€ police said on Monday.

The deceased identified as K Athouba age 20 and injured identified as K Bishan age 26. The worsening situation, amid ongoing ethnic violence, led the state government to shut down schools and extend the curfew for two more days until Tuesday.
