A shocking incident took place at Nilambazar, Karimganj on July 24, a man murdered his wife and allegedly surrender himself to Police.
According to reports, an incident took place in Bhagirkhala village under Nilambazar Police station. The accused dragged his wife from their home and drowned her in nearby pond. Following the next morning, the accused went to police station and surrendered himself.
The accused identified as Abubakkar and his wife Siddika Begum. According to investigation, the accused Abubakkar doubted his wife which led him to this tragic incident. The locals said that the accused was highly suspicious of his wife, which created tension in their relationship.
The Karimganj police said that Abubakkar surrendered himself by confessing his crime.
SP Partha Pratim Das informed that husband’s suspicion is the primary motive behind the murder.
The Abubakka have five children. The authorities has recovered the body and sent it to the Karimganj Civil Hospital for postmortem.
Further investigation is going on through the case.
