A disturbing incident took place in Guwahati on July 11 morning; a man caught red-handed for allegedly harassing a nurse near Aurus Mall in Guwahati.
According to reports, the incident took place today at around 7 am, when the man allegedly exposed his private parts in a vulgar manner and confronted a female nurse. The man identified as Ziarul.
The nurse cried for help, to draw the attention of the passerby and nearby residents.
An eyewitness said that the accused had in similar obscene behavior in the past but had previously escaped. This time, alert locals managed to catch him and tied him to a pole while waiting for the police to arrive.
The locals informed the police. As police reportedly failed to respond for over 45 minutes. So the angry crowed assaulted the accused in frustration over the inaction. Eventually, he was released by the public.
The incident has sparked serious concerns about women’s safety in the city and the glaring absence of prompt police response in such cases, especially in central locations like GS Road.
