A shocking and tragic incident incident took place in Dholai, Cachar, where a man allegedly beheaded his wife during a heated argument. The incident took place around 10 AM on June 11 at Sitakund village under West Ramprasadpur in the Dholai constituency.
According to police reports, the couple—Ratan Kol(38) and Meena Kol(35)—were engaged in a serious verbal dispute when the situation turned violent. In a sudden act of aggression, Ratan reportedly attacked Meena with a sharp weapon, and beheaded her which leading to her death on the spot.
Couple has three children, among them two boy and one girl.
Villagers witnessed the aftermath and quickly informed the local authorities. Officer-in-Charge of Dholai Police Station, Kulendra Hajuri, arrived at the scene and took Ratan Kol into custody without delay. Police also recovered the sharp weapon which used in murder. A forensic team from Silchar, along with Sonai Circle Officer Maria Tanim, also visited the site to collect crucial evidence.
Meena Kol’s body has been sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination. An investigation is currently underway to understand the full circumstances surrounding the case.
Authorities have urged the public to remain calm as legal proceedings continue.
