Diwali is the festival of light, where people light Diya, burst fire crackers, decorates home for celebration. In the mid of the celebration on October 31, massive fire broke out in Three different location of Silchar, Cachar, Assam.
The first fire incident took place in Janiganj area of Silchar, which is the busiest area of the city. In the area several important Godowns and shops houses are there.
On the day of Diwali and Kali Puja the devastating fire broke out in a Cotton ware house in the Bhuiya Lane, Janiganj, Silchar. It is believed that the fire caught by a stray fire cracker, rapidly due to highly flammable goods and densely packed structures and narrow lane of the area.
Several fire engines arrived at the incident area and control the flames of fire.
No casualties reported.
Another incident took place in the area of Second Link Road, lane โ 9 at the residents of Pratima Nath, Silchar. Locals spotted the flame and sprang to action. Upon receiving the alert, three engines dispatched to the scene. After nearly coordinate efforts of one they managed to control the flame of the fire. No one was present in the house in the time of incident, no injuries reported. The exact cause of fire not known, but initial suspicions suggest that it may have trigged by Diwali Fire Crackers.
Third fire incident took place in Ashram Road of Silchar, Cachar, where fire broke at a house where five families lived in rent. According to information, the fire broke at a mid night of Thursday, in the mid of Diwali, celebration. The house located opposite of Sishu Mandir, School.
Two people injured in the incident, and there houses turned into ashes. Fire engines arrived and managed to take control of fire.
