In a shocking incident, a 26-year-old doctor from Nallasopara working with KEM Hospital, Mumbai was allegedly attacked and stabbed outside the hospital premises by his girlfriend’s brother and his friends on Wednesday morning.
According to police reports, the victim, Dr. Vishal Yadav, has been serving as a house officer in the hospital’s Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery (CVTS) department since August 1 this year. About three weeks ago, Yadav entered into a relationship with a 23-year-old woman who also works at the hospital.
What Happened
After discovering the relationship, the woman’s brother, Farid, decided to confront Yadav. Accompanied by two of his friends — one of them identified as Nabil — Farid approached Yadav inside Ward No. 31 around 10:30 am on Wednesday and asked him to step out to discuss a personal matter.

Once Yadav exited the ward, the trio reportedly began assaulting him near the Hanuman Temple located just outside the hospital premises. During the altercation, Farid allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Yadav.
Some bystanders immediately rushed Yadav back to the hospital, where he received medical treatment. The police have since registered a case against the three accused, who are currently being traced.
Authorities stated that investigations are underway to determine the exact sequence of events and the motive behind the attack.
