A horrific bus accident took place in Deoghar, Jharkhand, where 18 Kanwariyas died on Tuesday morning. Inspector General of Dumka Zone Shailendra Kumar Sinha stated, “The bus collides with a truck transporting gas cylinder near Jamunifa Forest under Mohanpur police in Deoghar.
According to information, the road accident happened near Jamunia Chowk in Mohanpur block of Deoghar on Tuesday morning. A bus full of Kanwar Yatra pilgrims was on its way to Basukinath after visiting Baba Baidyanath temple.
Near Navapur in Mohanpur, the bus driver suddenly fell asleep while driving. The bus then crashed directly into a truck carrying gas cylinders. The impact was so strong that the driver died on the spot. But things got worse—the bus kept moving without control for around 500 meters and finally hit a pile of bricks near Jamunia Chowk.

In this tragic accident, 18 people lost their lives and 23 were seriously injured. Many of the injured are still in critical condition. All the passengers in the bus were devotees returning after completing their pilgrimage.
A local man, Ramanuj Yadav, who saw the accident said, “Most people in the bus had just finished their prayers. It seems the driver fell asleep, and then this horrible accident happened.”
As soon as the authorities were informed, police from Mohanpur station, CCR DSP Laxman Prasad, SDO Ravi Kumar, and Zila Parishad President Kiran Kumari reached the scene. The injured were rushed to Deoghar Sadar Hospital, where doctors are doing their best to treat them.
