Today, August 4, a cloudburst took place in Ganderbal district of Jammu & Kashmir which damaged road, resulting the closure of the Srinagar-Leh national high way.
Ganderbal SDM Bilal Mukhtar says, “Srinagar- Leh highway has been closed and I’ll advise people who are travelling on the Srinagar-Leh route and those who are on Amarnath Yatra to be informed about the situation and wait for the update from the district administration.”
The cloudburst in Cherwan Kangan area of Ganderbal district caused several damaged to the paddy field. Due to cloudburst several vehicles got stuck in debris and water entered into the residential area.

SSG road near Padawbal is blocked as the nearby canal overflowed which let accumulation of mud at the road.
Jammu & Kashmir Cloudburst struck during the early hours, which trigged the flash flood. This cloudburst has damaged several roads, damaged building, vehicles and residential home. The road has been blocked due to muddy and damaged.

Local authorities are actively working at the site to provide assistant and evaluate the situation. The highway between Kashmir valley and Ladakh Union territory also caused damaged due to which travelers will face disruption.
As it is the month of Sravana people devotee of Lord Shiva was on the way to Amarnath but due to cloudburst the route has been closed because of road damaged. The officials advised the people to wait for the update.
