Guwahati Police, seized huge amount of drugs from the area of Sawkuchi, Guwahati following a raid on Saturday. Basistha Police in Guwahati achieved a significant breakthrough under the leadership of OC Kapil Pathak.
Police conducted a raid in the area of Sawkuchi and arrested a woman in connection of it. During the raid police recovered four soap boxes and 13 plastic packets containing suspected heroin weighing 278.38 grams. Police also seized ₹1,49,500 in cash and a mobile phone along with the heroin from the accused. the market value of the seized items would be Rs 2 Crore.
The accused woman identified as a 32-year-old woman, Sajida Begum a residents of Algapur in Hailakandi district. She had been operating the drug trade from a rented house in Datalpara, Guwahati.
During search operation at her rented house police recovered 1,800 empty containers and 100 empty soap boxes, suspected to be used for drug packaging.
Further investigation is going on.
