Guwahati – In a swift and efficient operation, the Garchuk Police solved a murder case within three hours of the incident being reported. By exposing a suspected love triangle that led to the brutal killing of a 26-year-old man.
The incident occurred in the basement of the Silver Arcade Marketing Complex in Garchuk. At around 4:00 PM. After that Police received information about a violent assault at the location. A team led by the Officer-in-Charge of Garchuk Police Station immediately responded to the scene.
The victim, identified as Mriganka Barman, a resident of Japarkuchi, Ward No. 06 under Nalbari Police Station. He was found seriously injured and rushed to Excel Care Hospital, where he was declared dead.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Barman had been staying at Hotel High City Inn with a woman.
Police arrest the suspect Based on CCTV footage and technical surveillance. Police also identified the suspect as Jan Mohammad Ali, also known as Raju Ali (31), a resident of Dampur under Hajo Police Station.
The accused was apprehended within hours of the crime. Police suspect that a love triangle might be involved between the victim, the woman and the accused which may have triggered the murder. According to reports, the accused allegedly stabbed Barman with a knife and attacked him with a lathi (wooden stick). Both the weapons have recovered and seized, which used in murder.
A forensic team and fingerprint experts examined the crime scene as part of the investigation. Authorities confirmed that all legal formalities are being strictly followed.
