On Saturday, 6 March a henieous crime took place in Karimganj. A dead body of a girl which kept for a postmortem in Karimganj Civil Hospital was raped by an individual.
Karimganj Police on Friday registered a case of unnatural death of a girl at Bazaricherra, Karimganj. In the month of Ramdan a family found their daughter dead.
According to the Karimganj Police the girl died by suicide. So, the investigation is going to the matter. The dead of the girl was recovered in the present of the magistrate and sent it to the morgue of Karimganj Civil Hospital for Post mortem. When the dead body reached, it was dark and the Postmortem delayed to the next morning.
The next day when the doctor was started conducting postmortem the doctor discovered bite marks on the victim’s private parts and signs indicating a sexual assault. The doctor informed that the Karimganj Police has discovered the marks of the bite. It was surprising because earlier when the magistrate’s investigated the body at the scene they didn’t said about this types of details.
“We had originally dismissed the possibility of sexual assault based on the evidence we had gathered,” Police explained.
After the news was reported to the Karimganj Police, they launched an investigation about the incident.

Karimganj police SP Partha Pratim Das revealed, “We promptly launched another investigation and discovered that Anju Rabidas, a 38-year-old sweeper employed at the Civil Hospital, had entered the morgue. We first arrested him as a suspect, but during interrogation, he confessed about the crime.”
SP Das confirmed the arrest of Anju Rabidas. A case have been filed against him. Additionally, the deceased’s body has been sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for forensic examination. An investigation is launched against Anju Ravidas and they also aims to determine that this incident is his first crime or did he done this types of before. SP Das and his team are meticulously preparing a comprehensive case diary to ensure thorough legal scrutiny, delving into Rabidas’s criminal background and mindset.
This harrowing incident shocks society. The incident appalling mentality of sexual offenders in society. A similar incident occurred not long ago in Karimganj, where a woman was killed after resisting sexual advances from her alleged boyfriend, and her body was sexually assaulted. This recent tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the disturbing prevalence of such crimes.
