Mangaldai police have arrested four hackers in Darang district of Assam, who have accused of stealing money from several bank accounts by hacking.
Based on tip off, police conducted an operation in Darang district leading to arrested four individuals. The arrested individual identified as Chakib Choudhry from Guwahati, Bikram Neog from Shivsagar, Pranjit Sharia from Sipajhar and Rudu Ali from Mangaldai.
Police seized their mobile phones and important documents during the operation, which showed that the suspects had committed fraud in Assam and other states.
Police has register a case under MLD PS 14/25/US/316(2)/318(4)/336(3)/340(2)/61(2) BNS and presented the accused in court. Following which the accused has remanded to judicial custody.
During three days of questioning, police found more proof of their involvement in cybercrimes. Investigations are ongoing to recover the stolen money and uncover more details about their network.
