First Phase of Gunotsav 2025 Begins from January 6 in Assam

The Assam Government on January 6, has launched First Phase of Gunotsav 2025, which aims to assess the performance of nearly 14.11 lakh students across the state.

The theme of 2025 Gunotsav themed “Ensuring Quality Education,” began on January 6 and will continue until January 9.

11 districts of Assam with 16,056 schoolsย and 14,11,874 students will evaluated with the support of 6,365 external evaluators. The name of the 11 districts are Barpeta, Bajali, Karimganj, Kamrup, KarbiAnglong, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Ngaon, Sibsagar, SouthsalmaraMankachar, Udalguri.

Assam Education minister stated, โ€œGunotsav 2025, themed “Ensuring Quality Education,” will take place from January 6-9 in 11 districts, covering 16,056 schools and 14,11,874 students with the support of 6,365 external evaluators. Everyone’s cooperation and active participation are earnestly requested to ensure its successful completion, fostering a higher standard of education for the future of Assam.โ€

The government has brought together a diverse group of evaluators, including Ministers, MPs, MLAs, and senior officials from IAS, IPS, IFS, and other administrative services. This wide participation highlights the stateโ€™s dedication to improving the education system.

The Assam College Teachers’ Association (ACTA) has pledged full support to Gunotsav 2025. Dr. Jayanta Baruah, ACTA President, confirmed their active involvement, adding academic expertise to the initiative. Minister Pegu thanked ACTA for their cooperation and highlighted the programโ€™s goal of identifying gaps in the education system and making necessary improvements.

As Gunotsav 2025 continues, it aims to create a clear plan to improve education quality and ensure inclusivity in Assamโ€™s schools. This first phase lays the foundation for statewide assessments, reaffirming the governmentโ€™s commitment to building a better future for students.
