On Friday (August 30) night, a massive fire broke out in Bashbari market, Bongaigaon where shop gutted into fire, an elderly couple died.
According to information, an elderly couple died as they were asleep at a tea stall when the fire incident occurred. Unfortunately, they failed to come out from the shop and charred to death.
The couple identified as, Dulal Bhattacharya and his wife Koushalya Bhattacharya. Three shops, included Bhattacharya’s tea stall also gutted into fire of the market in Bashbari market, Bongaigaon. Goods worth lakhs has destroyed in the fire incident. Fire tenders arrived soon in the area and took control over the fire, but damage was extensive.
Authorities are investigating the cause of fire, but some reports suggest that cause of the fire is said to be cylinder blast in shop in the vincity.
