A fire broke out at Orthopedic Department of Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) earlier on today (July 8) which triggered panic among patient, staff and doctors.
The fire broke out minor operation theater of the Orthopedic Department, which is situated near the end of premier medical institute.
People realize fire at the hospital after heavy smoke suddenly engulfed the entire department. Flames spread quickly within a section of the ward, which create chaotic situation inside the hospital.
Fire Tenders were called immediately. Three fire tenders came to the scene and brought fire under control. An investigation has launched to know the exact cause of fire.
No injuries reported.
