Eid ul-Adha 2025 Date: 6 June or 7 June
Bakrid or Eid-ul-Adha is celebrated on the 10th day of Dhul Hijjah, the last month of the Islamic calendar. The exact date changes every year because it depends on when the crescent moon is seen.
This year, the moon was sighted in Saudi Arabia on May 27, 2025, so Bakrid will be celebrated there on June 6. In India, the moon is usually seen a day later, so Bakrid will be celebrated on June 7, 2025.
The day before Bakrid is called Arafat Day (Yaum al-Arafah), which falls on June 6 this year. It is one of the holiest days for Muslims and has deep spiritual meaning.
