In a significant operation, A Racket of 5 drug peddler arrested by the Cachar Police in Silchar. On Thursday a team of Police led by SP Numal Mahatta arrested a team of drugs peddler in Meherpur, Botertol area of Silchar. Based on secret information about a drug consignment delivery at a scrap shop in the area of Botertol Meherpur, Silchar police launched an operation. The shop owned by Amaj Hussain Barbhuiya son of Abdul Barbhuiya.
Drug peddler arrested in Silchar Operational Details
The police, acting on confidential information, initiated the operation, resulting in the arrest of two of four individuals linked to the drug trade. Maqbool Alam Lashkar (29) and Rajan Ahmad (21), both from Sonai North Mohanpur in North Krishnapur area of Silchar Sonai Road, were arrested. The primary culprits, Amaj Hossain Barbhuiya (30) and Masuk Ahmad (25) from MHC Lane in Silchar Meherpur Botertal area, were also taken into custody. Among them one girl was there name Chumki Begum Laskar of Sonai Bazar Tulagram.
Modus Operandi Revealed
From the investigation Police revealed that the planned delivery consignment involved a boy and a girl. The girl and boy delivered things with a motorcycle with Makbul Alom Laskar as a mediator. According to Police the investigation done in a strategic operation where the entire team arrested. Nine soap cases containing with a total of 306.51 grams suspected heroin recovered from their possession.
Legal Proceedings
Maqbool, Rajan, Amaz, and Masuk presented in the police court on Friday, subsequently sent to court as per judicial orders. Meanwhile, a minor companion from Majumdar Padabi of Tulargram area in Sonai has sent home.
