Today is the result date of Assam Panchayat Election 2025. The counting of vote is going on across the state. The counting of vote has started from 8 am in morning today.
Assam Panchayat election took place on May 2 and May 7 in two phase across the state. In first phase in 14 district the coting took place and 13 district polling on May 7.
A Senior Official of the Assam State Election Commission (ASEC) said, “The counting of ballot papers began at 8 am. The counting agents of the candidates reached early in the morning for the exercise.”
A total of 21,920 Gram Panchayat seat are there in Assam, among it 10,833 seats reserved for woman. Additionally, voting took place for 2,192 Anchalik Parishad (AP) seats, including 1,124 reserved for women, and 397 Zilla Parishad seats, with 199 seats designated for women candidates.

Phase 1: Voting Held on May 2
Polling was conducted across 14 districts:
Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Charaideo, Sivasagar, Majuli, Jorhat, Golaghat, Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur, Biswanath, Cachar, Hailakandi and Sribhumi.
- Voter Turnout: 70.19%
- Highest Turnout: Majuli – 80.02%
- Lowest Turnout: Sonitpur – 61%
- Total Eligible Voters: Over 89.59 lakh
Seats Contested in Phase 1:
- 216 Zila Parishad constituencies
- 94 Anchalik Panchayats
- 1,139 Gaon Panchayats
Phase 2: Voting Held on May 7
The second phase covered 13 districts:
Dhubri, South Salmara, Mankachar, Goalpara, Bongaigaon, Barpeta, Bajali, Nalbari, Kamrup, Kamrup Metro, Hojai, Nagaon, Morigaon and Darrang.
- Voter Turnout: 56.71%
- Total Eligible Voters: Over 91.31 lakh
- Total Candidates in Fray: 29,608
