A group of women launch Anti-Drug Campaign in Dwarbond Bazar, Cachar, set deadline for police to stop illegal activities like gambling, liquor and drugs sale from the region.
The campaign was launched under the banner of the Anti-Drug Women’s Association. Group of woman has organized the protest through the Dwarbond market, Cachar through the market to demand an end to these illegal activities, which they believe are ruining families.
In the protest the protestor woman carried placards, warned traders to stop selling drugs and gambling items.
According to the protest group, the availability of these substances is causing harm to families, and they are urging quick action to prevent further damage.
This group of women also urged submitted a memorandum to the police, setting one week deadline to enforce a complete ban in the sale of the illegal items.
They warned that they would escalate their campaign if no action is taken within the given time.
