Cachar Police on January 19, seized huge amount of drugs valued at Rs 1 Crore in the area of Kalain, Cachar.
According to reports, Yesterday Cachar police intercepted a vehicle coming from neighbouring state at Digharkhal Toll Gate, under Kalain Police Station. The operation was launched based on specific intelligence.
After searching the vehicle police recovered and seized 8,640 bottles of codeine phosphate cough syrup and 2 kg of Ganja. The market value of the seized items would be Rs 1 crore. One person arrested in connection of it. The person identified as Joylaldan Thanga, a 38-year-old resident of Aizawl
Cachar SP Numal Mahatta stated confirmed the arrest of Joylaldan Thanga, a 38-year-old resident of Aizawl, who drive the vehicle, which seized with the drugs. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma lauded on the effort of Cachar police on social media. He stated, “Drugs worth ₹1 crore recovered by Cachar Police. In a source based operation carried out at Digharkhal Toll Gate, a vehicle coming from a neighbouring State was intercepted leading to the recovery of 8,640 bottles of Codeine Phosphate cough syrup 2 kg Ganja One person has been arrested in this connection.
