A major Firing Incident took place in Cachar, where three Hmar Militants killed. On 16 July, Cachar Police launched a search operation in Bhuvan Pahar area to arrest suspected Hmar Militants in this operation a firing incident took place.
According to information, the incident unfolded on July 16, Tuesday, Cachar Police arrested three suspected militants in the East Dholai area of Ganganagar, Cachar. Police arrested them when they were travelling in an autorickshaw.
Police also recovered an AK-47 from their possession.
Later, on that night police took the arrested militants for search operation in Bhuvan Pahar area. During search operation police recovered AK-47 and another rifle from that arrest.
Suddenly Police were attacked from nearby jungle from hidden position, police also fire in return and shootout broke out. In this shoot out all three suspect were killed.
After the incident all three dead body recovered and sent to Silchar Medical College and hospital. Currently the dead bodies kept in morgue for further investigation. Three Police officials also injured and some police vehicles, including the one belonging to the Additional SP, were damaged.
One among the suspected militants were from Cachar and two others were from Manipur, who hed travelled to Cachar via Mizoram.
Bhuvan Pahar in now under Police scrutiny, following the incident where armed assailants opened fire in the area which disturbed the local areaโs peace and tranquility.
The Superintendent of Police, Cachar, Numal Mahatta, has not yet commented but is expected to hold a press conference to provide more details.
