Director of Higher Education, Assam Pomi Baruah has suspended Cachar College, Silchar Principal Dr. Siddhartha Sankar Nath for malpractices during HS Examination. He provide the cheating materials to his two relatives student.
On February 19, 2024 HS Physics Exam take place. During the exam Principal of Cachar College Silchar Dr. Siddhartha Sankar Nath has accused for supplying materials for cheating to two examinees student of HS Final year. It has been said that the caught student were his own kin means relatives. He has been suspended as per section 6 sub-section 1(a) of the Assam Services (Discipline and Appeal) rules, 1964.
Incident Behind Cachar College Principal suspended
The incident came into light when the two students were caught red handed by the vigilant district magistrate in the sick room where two were for appearing exam. After catching them the authorities interrogate them. During the interrogation the two students confessed that the cheating materials which recovered from them were provided by the principle himself.
Cachar College ADC Antara Sen informed that during invigilation in college the two students were caught red handed by the authorities during exam time with cheating materials. During investigation the students confessed in a their written confession that the unfair means of materials has supplied by the Principal who was oneโs student uncle ย ย during the exam.
The Suspension letter by the Director of Higher Education, Assam Pomi Baruah
The Suspended order of Cachar college, Silchar Principal was came on 21 February 2024. The number of the memorandum accompanying the suspension order is E.No.45381/1. In the order signed by Director of Higher Education, Assam Pomi Baruah stated, โPending drawal of Departmental Proceeding against Principal of Cachar college, Trunk Road, Silchar-788001, Dr. Siddhartha Sankar Nath, regarding malpractices during HS Examination, 2024, on 19/02/24,. Dr Siddhartha Sankar Nath, Principal of Cachar College is hereby placed under suspension, as per section 6 sub-section 1(a) of the Assam Services (Discipline and Appeal) rules, 1964.โ
โDuring the suspension period, Dr. Siddhartha Sankar Nath will get subsistence allowance, under FR 53 (1) (ii) (a) for the first three months of suspension period, as per rules. He will not move out of headquarter without the approval of the competent authority.โ Also added in the suspension letter.
