About Bigg Boss
Bigg Boss is a popular Indian TV show that airs on Colors TV. It’s part of the Bigg Boss franchise and follows the format of the Dutch reality game show, Big Brother. In the show, contestants, called “housemates,” live together in a special house, cut off from the outside world. Every week, the people living in the house choose two of their friends to possibly leave, and those who get the most votes from their friends have to face a public vote. Eventually, one person will have to leave the house because they received the most votes and were “evicted.”
Towards the end, when there are only a few housemates left, the public votes for the winner. Most of the housemates in the Indian version are celebrities, except for one chosen through auditions. The housemates are guided by a mysterious figure named ‘Bigg Boss,’ who communicates only through a voice in the house.
In Bigg Boss, there are some important rules that the contestants must follow, even though not all rules are shared with the audience. Here are the main ones:
- Speak Hindi: Contestants can only talk in Hindi.
- No Tampering: They can’t mess with any electronic devices or things in the house.
- Stay Inside: Except when allowed, they can’t leave the house area.
- No Violence: Physical fighting is not allowed.
- Secret Nominations: They can’t discuss who they want to nominate with others.
- Sleep Time: Contestants can only sleep when the lights go off.
Sometimes, contestants might be nominated for special reasons, like if someone with special privileges nominates them or if they break the rules. In serious cases, someone might be kicked out of the house.
