Confusion Over Parade Timing and Free Passes Added to Chaos
Miscommunication between organizers and the public added to the mayhem. Earlier in the day, Bengaluru traffic police had announced there would be no victory parade, only a stadium event. However, at around 3:14 PM, the RCB management posted on social media that a parade would begin at 5 PM, followed by celebrations inside the stadium. They also mentioned that limited free passes would be available online.
This sudden shift left many fans confused. Some showed up expecting to buy passes, while others believed free entry was possible. “In the morning, we were told passes could be bought. Later, we heard they were free at the venue. So like many others, I came here hoping to get one,” said Rakesh Prakash, a local software engineer caught in the crowd.
