An incident involving the attempted rape of a minor has been reported from Golakganj, Assam. Police have detained an e-rickshaw driver, identified as Fazar Ali, in connection with the case.
According to reports, a girl from Ward No. 7 had visited a local rice mill owned by Jahangir Ali Mondal. During that time, an individual allegedly tried to take improper advantage of the situation.
The girl managed to leave the location safely and informed her family. Following this, the accused attempted to leave the area but was swiftly intercepted by Golakganj Police on the Dumordaha National Highway.
Police have confirmed that the mill owner is currently untraceable. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
