Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) Exam 2024 has rescheduled and will now be held on January 19, 2025. The exam date has been postponed following the intervention of Gauhati High Court.
During Press conference Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu announced that the TET exam for both graduate and post graduate teacher recruitment TET Exam which earlier scheduled on December 29, 2024 has been postponed after 15 days. So, the new date of Assam TET 2024 Exam is now January 19, 2025.
The admit card for the exam will be released on January 3, 2025 on the official DSE, Assam website.
This announcement has come after significant rule from Gauhati High Court on Friday. Some candidates filed petitions to the high court to postpone the exam because a new syllabus was released by Directorate of Secondary Education (DSE) on December 5, which just days before the test.
The exam was originally scheduled on December 29, 2024, with admits card issue on December 15, 2024.
The high court ruled that the TET exam would not be held as planned previous schedule and ordered the authorities to allow at least 15 days before conducting it. The release of a new syllabus just 22 days before the exam had created confusion among candidates.
