Assam police have arrested seven people in human trafficking operation. The arrested identified including Rijumoni Tai, also known as Madam, the leader of a human trafficking ring. The arrests took place in Tinsukia’s Guijan in a major effort to fight trafficking.
Two minor girls were rescued from Arunachal Pradesh’s Itanagar and Naharlagun from the clutches of the criminal network. The operation covered areas like Duliajan, Majuli, Banderdewa, and Tinsukia, with the suspects quickly arrested and sent to jail.
The gang, led by Madam, had trafficked the girls for ₹2 lakh, highlighting the severe exploitation in the region. Further investigation is going on.
Police are continuing the investigation and also promised to catch the remaining criminals and protect vulnerable individuals.
