Assam Police arrested a fake Anti-Corruption officer in Badarpur, Sribhumi after the recent Fake doctors and Fake police officers arrested in Cachar.
The Fake Anti-Corruption officer identified as S.M. Jubel Ahmed, a resident of the Bhanga area. He was caught by the police during special operation.
As per police source, Ahmed had been moving around the Badarpur area for some time, posing as an anti-corruption officer to mislead people. To support his fake identity, he drove an Alto car with an anti-corruption logo and a fake number plate.
Based on tip-off Assam police launched a raid and arrested him in Badarpur area. Police also recovered fake identity cars, a mobile phone and several documents from his possession.
The incident also brought fear among the locals, with police suspecting the hand of a broader network of fraud. A case was registered against Ahmed, and investigations are underway to track his potential links with other scams.
