The ongoing heatwave sweeping across Assam is taking a deadly toll, with multiple suspected heat-related deaths reported from different parts of the state. The dead toll rises to 10.

The temperature continue to soar, concerns are growing about the health and safety of residents for those who are going for a work, like laborer, who work outdoor. As of 12:14 pm the weather temperature of Guwahati is 36°C as real feel like 44°C.

In Guwahati 3 people reported death due to extreme heat in Assam

One dead reported from Ganeshguri, Guwahati. Gul Mohammad Ali a driver associated with Dispur Police Station, was found collapsed and lifeless on a footpath near Hotel City Center. With no signs of injury, authorities suspect extreme heat may have played a role in his sudden death.

Another suspected heat-related death reported from Kailash Nagar near Forest Gate, Narengi. The body of 50-year-old Shubhan Boro discovered inside his residence after neighbors noticed a foul smell. Noonmati Police recovered the body and sent it to GMCH for postmortem. Locals suspect the intense heat may have contributed to his death.

In Narayanpur (Lakhimpur District) one reported death

A man named Ram Dutta, a resident of Kailaspur village near the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border, reportedly died due to extreme heat. Locals believe the unbearable temperature contributed to his sudden collapse and death.

In Doomdooma (Tinsukia District) one reported death

A tragic incident occurred at Tara Tea Estate, where Suren Chunoo, a tea garden worker, died after collapsing while clearing undergrowth in the blistering sun. Despite efforts to rush him to the estate hospital, doctors declared him brought dead. Co-workers suspect heatstroke as the cause of death.

In Bongaigaon

An unidentified body was found near the Agriculture Department office in Barpara, Bongaigaon. Locals alerted police, who launched an investigation. Initial reports suggest heatstroke as a possible cause of death, pending further confirmation.
