Assam CM Announces Govt Notifications in Bodo Language in 13 Districts

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday announced that government notification will be translated into Bodo language where people of the community live. In 13 district the government notification will be in Bodo language.

At an official function, on Sunday CM inaugurated ‘Bodoland Speaks: From Vision to Action’. Which is an initiative of the Bodoland Territorial Council under ‘Bodoland happiness Mission.

CM said, “As per the demand of the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU), the state government will make it compulsory for all the government notifications to be translated into the Bodo language in all the 13 Bodo inhabited districts of the state.”

Sarma also presented the Bodoland Lifetime Achievers Award to 18 individuals for their significant contributions to preserving and promoting folk culture in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).

During the event, the Chief Minister launched several important projects and books. These included the BTR Communication Bridge, a multilingual guide with 1001 words and 1001 sentences in 18 regional languages. Other releases were ‘Transforming Bodoland: A Journey of Change in BTR’, ‘Lookin’ Within: My Reflections’ by BTC Chief Pramod Boro, and the 2024–25 Annual Report of the Bodoland Happiness Mission.

CM Sarma praised the Bodoland Happiness Mission for its efforts in promoting peace, emotional well-being. And also social harmony across the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). He said the mission has helped reinforce the stability and unity achieved over the past five years.

The event also introduced two new initiatives — the Bodoland Engaged Ethnography Initiative and the Bodoland Migrant Women Livelihood Support Programme — both focused on community development and empowering local people.
