Assam Cabinet approves Rs 419 Crore for Road, Water Projects to boost infrastructure

The Assam government has approved road and water infrastructure projects worth nearly Rs 419 crore during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on January 1.

On X, Sarma shared Assam Cabinet decision that the Cabinet has approved 104 rural connectivity and infrastructure projects worth Rs 210.8 crore. These projects aim to benefit people in 12 districts across the state.

Additionally, Rs 207.92 crore has been allocated for drinking water supply projects in four towns i.e. Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Tezpur, and North Lakhimpur under the Urban Infrastructure Development Fund (UIDF).

The Cabinet also approved a new online portal to streamline mutual transfers for Grade III and IV employees, ensuring a seamless process. Cabinet has accorded approval to the process of mutual transfer through Swagata Satirtha Mutual Transfer online portal.

Furthermore, the Assam Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Rules, 2024 passed to simplify and enhance the registration process for births and deaths in the state.
