A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday in the Jonali area of Guwahati, where a man lost his life after being electrocuted while repairing an air conditioning unit at a Bajaj showroom.
According to eyewitnesses, the man was conducting maintenance work on the AC when he accidentally came in contact with a live electrical wire. The electric shock was so intense that it flung him into the nearby Bahini River, Guwahati.
Local police reached the scene shortly after being informed and recovered the body from the river. The identity of the deceased has not been officially confirmed yet.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine whether adequate safety protocols were in place during the maintenance activity. The incident has raised concerns about workplace safety measures in commercial establishments.
