A shocking murder incident took place in Guwahati, where an elderly woman found dead under suspicious and horrific circumstances on Wednesday morning.
According to initial reports, the elderly woman was first strangled and then had her throat slit with a pair of scissors. Her body was discovered inside a room of her residents, with door open, which raised suspicions of possible involvement by someone familiar to the victim. The victim identified as Bandana Das.
As per sources, the victim had been suffering from health issues and relied on a walker for mobility, making her especially vulnerable.
Two individuals detained by police for questioning in connection of the murder. They are identified as Kunjalata Das and Ratul Das, who were responsible for her care.
A forensic team and Guwahati police officers arrived promptly at the scene to gather crucial evidence in the murder case. Investigators are exploring all possible angles, particularly focusing on those who were in close contact with the woman shortly before her death.
DCP Amitabh Basumatary confirmed the incident as a clear case of murder. He noted that several “explosive details” have already surfaced and assured that every lead is being pursued to uncover the motive behind the killing.
