6 Assam Police Sentenced Life Imprisonment for murder

Six Assam Police has rewarded as life imprisonment by a district court of Tinsukia for brutally beating to death a person in an open market 11 years ago.

Tinsukia District Judge and session Judge Dipankar Bora on Wednesday sentenced the six police personal to life imprisonment under Section-302 (murder) of the Indian Panel Code.

The Incident took place back to October 7, 2013 where a man name Ajit Sonowal beaten at Ambikarpur Market.

After the incident, Ajit was transferred to the Assam Medical College and Hospital in Dibrugarh for treatment. But unfortunately, he died due to his injuries.

Ajit Sonowal’s father filed FIR at Sadiya Police Station on October 9, 2013 against all the accused.

After the investigation, the chargesheet filed and the trial of the cash began in Tinsukia District and Session High Court.

The court, after reviewing the evidence, witness testimonies, and the arguments presented by government advocate Ashok Chaudhary, found the six Assam police officers guilty.
