Assam Police DGP Commendation Medals 2025: 465 Officers and Personnel Honoured for Meritorious Service
As many as 465 officers and personnel from the Assam Police and allied forces awarded the prestigious Director General of Police (DGP) Commendation Medals for 2025 in recognition of their exceptional and meritorious service, according to an official notification.
The honours include Gold and Silver Commendation Medals, conferred upon officers and personnel from the Assam Police, Fire & Emergency Services, Civil Defence, Home Guards, Assam Rifles, Indian Army, CRPF, and other sister organisations. The awardees span a wide range of ranks, from senior IPS officers to field-level personnel.
Gold Commendation Medals (Assam Police)
A total of senior IPS and APS officers, along with inspectors, sub-inspectors, and other ranks awarded Gold Medals for their outstanding contribution to policing and public service. Prominent recipients include Munna Prasad Gupta, IPS; Hiren Chandra Nath, IPS (Retd.); Surendra Kumar, IPS; Akhilesh Kumar Singh, IPS; V. Siva Prasad Ganjala, IPS; Vivek Raj Singh, IPS; Imdadul Hussain Bora, IPS; Devojyoti Mukherjee, IPS; Partha Sarathi Mahanta, IPS; Ratna Singha, IPS, among others.
Several APS officers, inspectors, sub-inspectors, assistant sub-inspectors, and constables also recognised for their dedication and service excellence.
Silver Commendation Medals
The Silver Commendation Medals awarded to personnel from the Assam Police, Fire & Emergency Services, Home Guards, Civil Defence, CID, Special Branch (SB), STF, GRP, Border Organisation, and other allied units.
Among senior officers honoured with Silver Medals are Lachit Barua, IPS; Prasanta Kumar Bhuyan, IPS; Arabinda Kalita, IPS; Robin Kumar, IPS; Bedanta Madhab Rajkhowa, IPS; Sudhakar Singh, IPS; Veera Venkata Rakesh Reddy, IPS; Shwetank Mishra, IPS; Pushkin Jain, IPS; Akshat Garg, IPS, along with several APS officers.
In addition, hundreds of personnel across various ranks—including inspectors, sub-inspectors, ASIs, havildars, constables, fire service staff, home guards, and ministerial personnel—have been awarded Silver Medals. These recipients include members from CID, SB, STF, V&AC, Guwahati Police Commissionerate, district executive forces, Assam Police battalions, Fire & Emergency Services, GRP, and Border Organisation.
Awards to Armed Forces and Central Forces
Personnel from the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) also conferred Silver Commendation Medals. Notable awardees include Brigadier Avaneesh Chambial (Indian Army), Brigadier Sarabjeet Singh (Assam Rifles), Colonel Kishan Bal P, Colonel Imliakum Keitzar, Colonel Neelesh Bhardwaj, Lieutenant Colonel Palugulla Mastan Reddy, and Assistant Commandant Sandeep (CRPF).
The DGP Commendation Medals awarded annually to recognise exceptional bravery, professionalism, and dedication to duty, reinforcing morale and excellence across Assam’s security and emergency services.
