Prime Minister Narendra Modi chose to celebrate his birthday on September 17th by inaugurating key initiatives aimed at promoting development and supporting traditional craftsmen. In a memorable moment at the convention center, enthusiastic chants of “Bharat Mata ki Jai” filled the air as PM Modi officially unveiled YashoBhoomi.

Yashobhoomi: Redefining Convention and Exhibition Centers

This state of the art center is set to redefine the global standards for convention and exhibition spaces. It is developed at a cost of approximately Rs 5,400 crore. It covers an expansive project area exceeding 8.9 lakh square meters.
The YashoBhoomi spanned over 8.9 lakh square meters with a total built-up area exceeding 1.8 lakh square meters. Yashobhoomi is poised to become one of the world’s largest MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) facilities.

Main Auditorium with Innovative Seating Systems of Yashobhoomi

The centerpiece of Yashobhoomi is the main auditorium, boasting innovative automated seating systems that can adapt to a flat floor or tiered auditorium style seating for various event configurations. With a seat capacity of around 6,000 guests, it promises a world class experience.
The Grand Ballroom, characterized by its distinctive petal ceiling. It can also comfortably host around 2,500 guests with an extended open area accommodating up to 500 attendees.
Yashobhoomi offers 13 meeting rooms spread across eight floors. It is designed to accommodate a variety of meetings and events of different scales.

Yashobhoomi’s Vast Exhibition Spaces

With one of the world’s largest exhibition spaces, spanning over 1.07 lakh square meters. Yashobhoomi is perfectly equipped to host exhibitions, trade fairs, and business events of international significance.
The convention center’s design reflects Indian culture, incorporating terrazzo floors with brass inlay reminiscent of rangoli patterns and other cultural elements. Yashobhoomi also prioritizes sustainability with features like wastewater treatment, rainwater harvesting, and rooftop solar panels.
A Commute with the Common Man In a remarkable display of accessibility and relatability PM Modi commenced his day with a metro ride. During his journey, he interacted with fellow commuters reaffirming his close connection with the people he serves.
Extending Metro Access for Convenience Adding to Delhi’s ever-improving infrastructure, PM Modi inaugurated the extension of the Delhi Airport Metro Express line. This extension now links Dwarka Sector 21 to the newly-established ‘YashoBhoomi Dwarka Sector 25’ metro station. Making the Convention Centre easily accessible to the public.

Nurturing Traditional Craftsmanship At the YashoBhoomi Convention Centre, PM Modi took time to engage with artisans and craftsmen, underscoring the importance of preserving and promoting traditional skills that are integral to India’s cultural heritage.
Empowering Artisans for a Better Tomorrow One of the day’s highlights was the launch of the “PM Vishwakarma” schemeโ€”a government initiative with a substantial budget of Rs 13,000 crore. This scheme is designed to empower traditional artisans and craftsmen by providing financial support. And also fostering the growth of their crafts.
Financial Assistance for Vishwakarma Artisans Under the PM Vishwakarma scheme, PM Modi announced a significant support mechanism. The government will offer loans of up to Rs 3 lakhs without the need for bank guarantees. Furthermore, these loans come with favorable interest rates. The scheme kicks off with an initial loan of Rs 1 lakh, followed by an additional Rs 2 lakhs upon successful repayment. Greatly benefiting Vishwakarma partners.
