A robbery attempt by a miscreants at a Punjab National Bank in the area of Chotomamda, Binnakandi of Cachar district, Assam.
According to information, a group of robbers broke the shutter of the ATM booth and also tampered some parts of bank but failed to steal any money from the bank. The incident took place late on Sunday night. The locals of the place noticed the damaged the shutter on Monday morning and called the police.
According to locals, a person who first noticed the damaged shutter of the ATM on Monday morning, called the Lakhipur police and bank officials immediately. The police immediately rushed to the scene and launched throughout investigation to arrest the miscreants.
An official of Punjab National Bank said that, “Fortunately no cash had stolen or even touched, thanks to police patrolling in the area. The robbers open the shutter of the ATM booth, but they couldn’t reach the case safe. Some of the parts of bank tempered with, but nothing valuable affected.”
The bank manager confirmed that no money stolen in the incident.
CCTV footage from the bank has handed over to the police, which reveled that four miscreants involved in the attempted robbery or theft. On Monday morning policer launched an investigation where forensic them and sniffers has come. The forensic experts now assisting with investigation.
Even though no money was lost the incident shock the locals, the audacity of the thieves is shocking as they target both the CTM and bank’s vault room.
