The lifeless body of a student was recovered under mysterious circumstances at a reputed college hostel in Beltola, Guwahati.
The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Baltigo K. Changma. Originally from Meghalaya, Changma was pursuing his studies at Nerim College in Beltola.
He was a sixth-semester LLB student. His body was found inside the bathroom of his private hostel room.
Sources reveal that the student had been suffering from prolonged mental distress.
Both the college authorities and fellow students have refrained from commenting on the incident.
Dispur Police reached the scene and sent the body for post-mortem examination. An investigation into the case is currently underway.
