A gruesome incident took place in Nagaon district of Assam, where a man surrender himself before police after killing his wife and her lover.
According to reports, a man in Pasnijar, Kampur under Assam’s Nagaon district, brutally murdered his wife and her alleged lover, a TET-qualified teacher, late at night inside a rented house. The accused, identified as Jayakanta Das, later surrendered at the Kampur Police Station, shocking the entire locality.
As per police report, Jayakanta Das used a metal rod to kill his wife, Geeta Rani Das, and her lover, Bhaskar Jyoti Nath, in a fit of rage after allegedly discovering them together in the same room. The incident reportedly took place in a rented accommodation where Geeta had been living alone while her husband worked in Guwahati.

After Committing the double murder, Jayakanta Das immediately turned himself in to the local police. Kampur police quickly rushed to the scene, secured the crime spot, and sent the bodies of both deceased to Nagaon for a post-mortem examination. A detailed investigation is now underway.
Sources revealed that Jayakanta Das was employed with a company in Guwahati and would only occasionally visit his wife in Kampur. During his absence, his wife was reportedly involved in a long-term extramarital relationship with Bhaskar Jyoti Nath, a schoolteacher residing in a nearby rented room.
On the night of the incident, Das is believed to have caught the two red-handed, which triggered the deadly assault. The murder weapon, a rod, was recovered from the crime scene.
