Actor Mukul Dev, known for Son of Sardar, passed away on May 23 night after being admitted to the ICU due to health complications over the past few days.
The Death news of Mukul Dev confirmed Vindu Dara Singh, who worked with Mukul in ‘Son of Sardar’, to India Today. He expressed sorrow that Mukul wouldn’t get the chance to see himself on the big screen.
Vindu Dara Singh stated via social media, “Rest in peace my brother #MukulDev ! The time spent with you will always be cherished and #SonOfSardaar2 will be your swansong where you will spread joy and happiness to the viewers and make them fall down laughing !”

About Mukul Dev
Mukul Dev (17 September 1970 – 23 May 2025) was an Indian actor who worked in both television and films. He known for his roles in Hindi and Punjabi movies, TV shows, and music albums. He also appeared in a few Bengali, Malayalam, Kannada, and Telugu films. Mukul received the 7th Amrish Puri Award for excellence in acting for his role in Yamla Pagla Deewana.
He was born in Punjabi family in New Delhi. His Hari Dev, an assistant commissioner of police, died in 2019 at the age of 91. Mukul studied at St. Columba’s School in Delhi and also earned a certificate in aeronautics from the Indira Gandhi Institute of Aviation in Raebareli.
He had work in some famous Bengali film like Awara, Bachchan, Sultan the Saviour. He started his career in 1996 with the TV series Mumkin. In the same year he made his film debut in Dastak, where he starred alongside Sushmita Sen.
Over the years, he acted in several well-known films like Yamla Pagla Deewana, Son of Sardaar, R… Rajkumar, and Jai Ho.
