A chilling double murder has shaken Boloma Moran Gaon near Teok in Jorhat district of Assam. A Woman and her minor daughter blood-soaked bodies were discovered inside their home on Tuesday morning (Dec 10).
The woman’s husband, Kalyan Konwar, was also found with stomach injuries in another room and was rushed to a nearby hospital.
The victims have been identified as Sunsumi Konwar and her seven-year-old daughter, Sonakshi Konwar.
According to local residents, panic spread across the village when news broke of the gruesome killings. Villagers forced their way into the house around 8 am after noticing the doors were locked from inside. Upon entering, they discovered the woman and child dead, while Kalyan was lying injured in a separate room.
Villagers reported hearing the couple arguing late into the night, with some even visiting the house to inquire about the dispute. Kalyan, had allegedly assured them everything was fine and that it was only a minor family issue.
Police suspect that Kalyan may have killed his wife and daughter over domestic disputes, as there were no signs of forced entry into the home. Investigators believe he suffered injuries during the incident.
Further investigation is going. Once Kalyan’s condition stabilises, he will be questioned to determine his role in the brutal murders.
