Massive Fire broke out at Kalbari Char, Silchar today afternoon, which gutted four houses into ashes and property damaged worth lakh rupees.
The fire originally started from the residence of Sanjay Das and rapidly spread to nearby houses. Within minutes, the flames engulfed the homes of Shampa Das and the rented accommodations of Laxmirani Das and Phultara Das.
The Locals immediately alerted the fire tenders, and within 13 minutes it reached the spot. After a prolonged operation, firefighters managed to bring the situation under control.
Police officials stated that the fire was most likely caused by a short circuit. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.
