After bring his severe injuries, he was treated in Jail Hospital instead of Silchar Medical College and Hospital. The Cachar Police has launched an investigation to uncover that how the life-term convict Mura was allowed to leave the jail.

The incident has brought renewed attention to ongoing allegations of misconduct within the jail. Reports suggest that prisoners often leave the premises to engage in illegal activities, such as drug trafficking and the sale of alcohol, allegedly with the cooperation of some jail staff.

The fact that the attacker was a former inmate, combined with suspicions that Mura may have been carrying drugs, adds weight to claims about prisoners’ involvement in criminal activities. After the attack, officers from Sadar Police Station and Tarapur Town Outpost were seen entering the jail to investigate further.
